Thursday, August 10, 2017   |   Pacific Bora   |   10,000 ft.   Drillship
Erin Energy says that it will commence drilling operations using UDW drillship Pacific Bora (12,000') at the Oyo field offshore Nigeria this week. The rig has already arrived at the Oyo-9 well location and is preparing to drill the well. The Company has the option to drill up to two additional wells with the Pacific Bora and it has already identified four drill-ready prospects.

Further to a RigLogix report from 15 May, Aker BP has awarded a 9-month contract to Odfjell Drilling for the provision of UDW semi Deepsea Stavanger (10,000') for work in the Norwegian sector. Work under the contract is due to begin in February 2018 on completion of Wintershall's campaign with the rig and will complete in October 2018, before the rig moves to South Africa for a contract with Total. The contract is for exploration and development drilling at various locations in the Norwegian Sea and the Barents Sea, and the value is estimated up to $68 million (equating to a day rate of just under $252,000).

Diamond Offshore MDW semi Ocean Guardian (1,500') has begun mobilizing from the port of Invergordon out to the UK North Sea in preparation for a new campaign with Azinor Catalyst. The campaign will cover the drilling of a well at the Partridge prospect in Block 14/11a, lasting for around 25 days. On conclusion of this, the rig is expected to return to Invergordon until starting its next deployment with Decipher Energy in mid-February 2018.

Thursday, August 10, 2017   |   ENSCO 8503   |   8,500 ft.   Semisub
UDW semi ENSCO 8503 (8,500') has arrived on location in Green Canyon Block 281 and is preparing to spud the Tornado-2 development well for Talos Energy. Drilling in 2,756' of water is expected to last anywhere from 60-85 days, with another 30 if the well is completed. The firm portion of the contract will keep the rig working through October. Talos brought the Tornado-1 well online in November 2016.

Friday, August 11, 2017   |   Junana   |   150 ft.   Jackup
the 5-year SPS on National Drilling jackup Junana (150'-IC) has been completed, and the rig has departed the Drydocks World yard in Dubai. It should arrive at the Zakum Field shortly to resume its evergreen contract with ZADCO. The contract runs to July 2018, with a likely three-year extension to be confirmed then.
