Wellseley Confirmed As Deepsea Bergen Charterer Further to a RigLogix report from 3 April, 2017, it has now been confirmed that Wellesley Petroleum is the charterer behind the one-well plus one-well option contract for Odfjell Drilling MDW semi Deepsea Bergen (1,476'). The rig will begin this new contract offshore Norway in the third or fourth quarter of 2017. Wellesley Petroleum is planning to drill an exploration well at the Goanna prospect in PL 881 in the Tampen area of the Viking Graben.

Hyperdynamics has raised a total of $6,330,000 through a private placement offering which will be used to pay a part of its portion of the drilling costs during the current Fatala well campaign offshore Guinea. The operator is in a joint 50/50 venture with SAPETRO and will pay the other costs involved in the program. The campaign kicked off on 24 May using UDW drillship Pacific Scirocco (10,000').

Rosneft has awarded Japan Drilling a contract for two wells off Vietnam commencing in April 2018. MDW semi Hakuryu-5 (1,640') will drill an exploration well in Block 06-01 and an HPHT well in Block 5.3/11. Water depths in the blocks range from 345' to 625'. Contract value for the 102-day program is said to be $14 million and reports say Rosneft can cancel the contract no later than September 11, 2017. The rig just started a 120-day contract for Gazprom off Russia and will complete that work in early October.

Perisai Petroleum Tecknologi and Sembcorp Marine subsidiary PPL Shipyard have mutually agreed to further extend the delivery dates of newbuild jackups Perisai Pacific 102 and Perisai Pacific 103 until August 31, 2017. The initial delivery for the 102 and 103 were scheduled for October 31, 2016 and July 30, 2016 respectively. Both parties have also agreed to seek and evaluate any options that may arise during the period of deferment.

Monday, June 12, 2017   |   ENSCO 106   |   400 ft.   Jackup
Jackup ENSCO 106 (400?-IC) has begun drilling operations at B15-A platform, continuing its contract for Sapura Energy. The rig was drilling at the West Belumut A platform, but completed that work around the end of May before mobilizing to Sarawak where it is currently stationed until the end of its contract in late August. The rig then will have a brief idle period before beginning a 5-year plus 3-year option contract in December 2017 for BP off Indonesia.
