Recent Offshore Rig Activity Notes Sample
Below is a sample of the 41 rig activity notes from the last week available to RigLogix subscribers.
Saturday, December 09, 2017   |   Scarabeo 9   |   12,000 ft.   Semisub
Saipem UDW semi Scarabeo 9 (10,000') has departed Constanta, Romania and is now headed for the Russian Black Sea to begin a one-well plus one-well option contract for Shatskmorneftegaz. Drilling should begin around mid-December, with operations lasting until mid-February 2018. The option well, if exercised, would keep the rig busy for another 30 days. Prior to receiving the contract in April 2017, the rig had been idle since completing a contract off Angola in January 2017.

Wednesday, November 29, 2017   |   Ocean Monarch   |   10,000 ft.   Semisub
Diamond Offshore UDW semi Ocean Monarch (10,000') is currently anchored around 9km from Fremantle Port, Australia, and is undergoing two to three months of maintenance works. The rig, which recently came off hire with BHP Billiton, is undergoing the maintenance in Perth's waters, while escaping the cyclone season. The rig will remain at anchorage while the work is being done and will not enter the port. Ocean Monarch is due to go back to work in March 2018 for Cooper Energy, then moving on for a new campaign with Origin Energy later in the year.

Wednesday, November 29, 2017   |   Ocean Rig Corcovado   |   10,000 ft.   Drillship
Ocean Rig is optimistic that it can secure further work next year for its two Brazil-based UDW drillships. Ocean Rig Mykonos (10,000') is due to finish up with Petrobras in March 2018 and Ocean Rig Corcovado (10,000') is due to come off hire with Petrobras in May 2018. The rig owner expects the two rigs to have a gap between finishing with Petrobras and starting on any new projects, but also believes that they are in a good position to receive follow-on commitments. Both units completed 5-year SPS surveys earlier this year.

Wednesday, November 29, 2017   |   Rowan Gorilla VII   |   450 ft.   Jackup
It is now confirmed that jackup Rowan Gorilla VII (450'-IC) has a new commitment lined up, which will commence in 2018. The operator and location of the new contract cannot yet be disclosed, though more details are expected to be revealed shortly. The rig is due to complete its current contract with Perenco at the Ravenspurn North field in the UK southern North Sea within the next 10 days. Thereafter, the rig will undergo around 75 days of upgrades, before moving out for its new job.

Wednesday, November 29, 2017   |   Rowan Gorilla VI   |   450 ft.   Jackup
Market sources indicate that jackup Rowan Gorilla VI (400'-IC) will commence mobilization from the UK to Trinidad and Tobago in January in preparation for its new contract with Shell. Before leaving, the rig will undergo some regular maintenance operations. Shell will be using the rig for the drilling at the Starfish area in Block 5c for a minimum of 150 days with four one-well options available thereafter. The rig is currently stacked in Dundee port, UK, where it has been since the beginning of 2017.
