Recent Offshore Rig Activity Notes Sample
Below is a sample of the 62 rig activity notes from the last week available to RigLogix subscribers.
Sunday, April 16, 2017   |   Deep Driller 8   |   350 ft.   Jackup
Aban Offshore has secured the second of two jackup contracts for Vietsovpetro for work off Vietnam. Jackup Deep Driller 8 (350'-IC) will perform the four-well plus four-options contract starting before the end of the month. Operations for the firm portion are expected to last 60-90 days. The rig, which finished a one-well assignment for Santos Energy off Bangladesh in late March, mobilized from its stack location in Indonesia to Ho Chi Minh April 10 to begin contract preparations.

Sunday, April 16, 2017   |   West Cressida   |   375 ft.   Jackup
Market speculation is that Seadrill has been awarded the one-well plus two-option contract from Twinza Oil for work off Papua New Guinea. Exploration drilling in the Pasca A field in PPL 328 will begin in May after the West Cressida (375'-IC) completes its current contract for PTTEP off Thailand. The firm well is scheduled for 45 days, with work extending another 90 days if both options are exercised. Water depth at the site is around 305'.

Monday, April 17, 2017   |   Spartan 208   |   250 ft.   Jackup
Gulf of Mexico operator Fieldwood Energy is now not expected to complete operations with workover jackup Spartan 208 (250'-IC) until around May 1, about two weeks later than originally planned. It is further understood Spartan is in discussions with as many as two additional operators regarding follow-up work for the rig. Information regarding those contracts will be reported if and when they are signed.

Monday, April 17, 2017   |   Deep Driller 5   |   350 ft.   Jackup
Cairn Energy has completed work in Block PR-OSN-2004/1 off India with Aban Offshore jackup Deep Driller 5 (350'-IC) and the rig has been released. With no follow-up work currently in place, the rig is now idle in the Krishnapatnam Anchorage area off India.

Monday, April 17, 2017   |   Paragon L782   |   300 ft.   Jackup
Paragon Offshore is seeking US Bankruptcy Court permission to sell cold stacked jackups Paragon L782 (300'-IC) and Paragon L783(300'-IC) to Dixstone, a subsidiary of Perenco. Sale price for the two units, which are both idle in Cameroon, is reported to be $2.7 million. The jackups are Friede & Goldman L-780 MOD II designs and entered service in 1981 and 1982. Reports indicate the court will meet on April 28 to make a decision. Should the sale go through,m it is likely they would be converted to non-drilling mode. Dixstone is also reportedly trying to purchase retired jackup Paragon B153 (150'-IC), but that sale is contingent on the other sale going through. The rig was reteired in February 2015 and has been for sale since.
