LISBON, June 14 (Reuters) - Galp Energia's two Portuguese refineries continued to operate this week with little impact from a five-day strike that began on Monday and which unions say caused 70 to 80 percent of refinery workers to down tools.

The company runs the 220,000 bpd Sines refinery in southern Portugal and the 110,000 barrels-per-day Matosinhos plant near Porto in the north.

"This labour action follows the same pattern as the previous strikes, which had no relevant impact on operations," a Galp spokesman said.

The oil workers' unions are protesting the loss of labour rights over the past few years and demand that Galp include them in a collective bargaining process.

They also argue that the minimum services demanded by Galp during this and previous strikes are unlawful, as they effectively thwart their right to stoppages and allow the company to maintain operations.
