RECENT OFFSHORE RIG ACTIVITY NOTES SAMPLE
BW Energy has committed to drilling an additional well offshore Gabon under its current contract with Borr Drilling jackup Norve (400'-IC). The program has been extended from two to three wells and will keep the rig committed until late July or early August 2018. The operator will use the additional time to drill the DRNEM-1 appraisal well at NE Ruche, which is located around 15km from the current DTM-3H Tortue well. The rig does not yet have any follow-on commitments in place.
Further to a RigLogix report from 3 May, Noble has now confirmed that the charterer behind the recent award for jackup Noble Mick O'Brien (400'-IC) is Qatar Gas. The operator will start work with the rig from June 2018 until January 2019. The rig is currently stacked in Sharjah, UAE, since completing a contract with Dubai Petroleum in Q3 2017.
Noble says that it has postponed its 30-day regulatory inspection for jackup Noble Gene House (300'-IC), which was previously scheduled to happen during May 2018. The rig owner has given no new date for the yard work, which will be undertaken while the rig is on a $0 day rate, but says it will be undertaken at a later period. The rig is on hire with Saudi Aramco until mid-November 2018.
