Statoil has exercised a further one-well option on its contract for MDW semi Bideford Dolphin (1,500') for more work offshore Norway. The new sidetrack well, 34/7-B-1 BH, will be in direct continuation with the upcoming P&A 34/7-B-1 AH well, which was agreed to in April and is estimated to start in July. The contract value for the extension is around $17.2 million for an estimated 100 days, equating to approximately $172,000 per day.

Spartan Offshore is due to complete operations with jackup Spartan 208 (250'-MC) in High Island Block 130 today. The rig will then mobilize to Euene Island Block 224 for a 21-day recompletion for Walter O&G. The rig is now next available around mid-June.

Faroe Petroleum Norge has been given the green light to drill two appraisal wells at the Brasse discovery, using Odfjell Drilling MDW semi Deepsea Bergen (1,476'). The wells, which are named 31/7-2 and 31/7-3, may also be sidetracked after the initial drills are completed. The drill sites are around 97 kms west of Oygarden in Hordaland county. Water depth in the area is 390'. Drilling will begin on 1 June at the earliest and last 72 days for each well, including possible sidetracks. The rig, which is currently on hire with Statoil, is almost fully committed until late 2018, apart from a small window of availability between December 2017 and mid-February 2018.
