Senior Environmental, Health, Safety Specialist

Location: Washington, DC

Description: RINA Consulting is currently seeking for a Senior Environmental Health and Safety Specialist to work with our Environment and Sustainability Business Unit. The candidate will be part of the team assigned to assessing, reviewing and monitoring the environmental, health, safety and/or social aspects of projects in various industrial and infrastructure sectors (O&G, renewables, power generation, transmission and distribution, railways and ports, industry). The candidate will be based at the RINA Consulting offices in Washington DC.


  • MS or MA degree in an environmental engineering or sciences, health and safety subjects.

  • A minimum of 5 years of professional experience in environmental and social impact assessment, environmental and social due diligence, and audit.

  • Consultancy, contracting and/or operational experience in United States and in Latin America and Caribbean (LAC) would be an advantage.

  • Working experience and knowledge of IFC/IDB/EBRD/Equator Principles or other Lenders environmental, social, health and safety standards is a plus.

  • Professional documented proficiency in spoken and written English is mandatory. Knowledge of other languages (above all Spanish) would be advantageous.

  • Experience and ability to work on several projects simultaneously under time pressure is essential.

  • Availability to travel frequently in the United States and in LAC on short assignments (1 - 2 weeks)

  • Legally authorized to work in the United States without Company sponsorship
